What a lucky boy!

So, we are mere days away from Christmas and I've been on my best behaviour. I've also been adding to my list of tricks - as well as hiccuping and wriggling, I have also perfected the art of peeing up my own back. This gets the nurses' attention and soon has them running around changing my bedding, only for me to demonstrate my new trick all over again. This is fun.

This afternoon I had a couple of visitors - grandad came to see me again and also my great nannie. My uncle Mark was due to come as well, but he is unwell so stayed away. He and uncle Dick very kindly got me a baby gym to help me tone up some of this fat I've been putting on, so thank you uncle Mark and uncle Dick, I'll be up for doing the New York Marathon with you in a couple of years.

Beef Cake!

Great news: between my last weigh-in on Tuesday and this morning (Friday), I have put on 55g!

Hold on one second...

In a previous post I said I had put on 15g. Well in actual fact I put on 25g. I know it is not much, but it means an awful lot to me.

Sorry for the confusion... please forgive me... it won't happen again I promise. I don't want to make excuses but I did have the hiccups, and I'm only little. I get weighed again tonight, so will keep you posted. I am hoping for good news as they have increased my milk intake again today... 21ml every 2 hours. Burp!

The most popular baby in the ward

What's a little man to do? Once I'd got rid of my hiccups yet more visitors arrived - I think the other babies are getting jealous. My great aunt Hilary and my first cousin once removed, Chris, came to visit and bought me a fab coloured toy that makes lots of fun noises and a cute 'little' baby grow that I can wear when I get fatter. Keep watching my weight watching chart on the right of the page...

I've also started doing really stinky poos for mum and dad and have plenty of milk to keep me going.

Little people get little hiccups

Anyone know a cure for hiccups that doesn't involve holding my breath or drinking a glass of water backwards? Other than the hiccups I've also put on 15g today, so like my dad I'm piling on weight in the build up to Christmas.

3 Guesses

Clear your mind and look at my face - can you guess what I am doing right now?

Swaddled and molly-coddled

Yes I know I'm cute, but seriously, mum, dad - my Christmas presents had better be wrapped better than this!

Favourite pass time #2

Favourite pass time #2 -cuddles with dad.

N.B. Favourite pass time #1 involves boobs! (nice one son - Dad)

Does my bum look big in this?

Can you believe it! My first day wearing clothes and mum and dad bring me in this to wear - er, excuse me, but does this come in an extra-extra small?

A little man's gotta do what a little man's gotta do

So anyway, you know how I was telling you about how I've been upgraded and I'll be moving next door... well mum and dad happened to mention that my auntie Angela was going to be coming over in the evening to say "Hi". So I'm thinking - here I am in my new crib and whilst clothes are really cool and everything, one thing they can't cover up is the fact that I'm still in need of a good tan. So I pretended to the doctors that my jaundice that I told you about in an earlier post had come back and they rigged me up to the sun lamp again to give me a bit of a top-up. Clothes can wait until tomorrow. The good news is I don't have to be connected up to that pesky ECG anymore - those cables kept getting tangled in my toes and the sensor pads left tan marks!

Day 5 in the SCBU. Grandma and Grandad came to see me again this morning and I was allowed out for a cuddle with mummy. I had my lunch and got a bit of wind, but that was soon sorted out.

Anyway, it is all change here. As I have been a good boy and breathing all by my self, I'm moving out of my incubator into a hot cot in room 2 - which is basically a heated water bed. This also means that I get to wear clothes for the first time in my life, so mum and dad will be back later today to dress me. I wonder what they will bring in for me? I'm a very fashion conscious young fella.
